Rating Hammersmith Hotspots
The return to school in September means one thing for us all: the return to the beloved Hammersmith Broadway, a place most of us could probably get around with our eyes closed. It's been 5 years since Unpublished last cast our eyes upon these hallowed halls (station walls?), so it seems appropriate to bestow an up to date review of the most popular spots to our new audience, to make sure you’re enjoying your hard earned after-school sweet treat somewhere worth it. Enjoy!
Starbucks (specifically in Broadway)
One of the most popular hotspots. Their seasonal drinks add a certain excitement to the start of the school year. The knowledge that I can have a pumpkin spice Frappuccino after a particularly hard test genuinely gets me through it. The chai lattes and cookies and cream drinks are a sure and safe option, and going to Starbucks itself provides a great lower school style hangout spot. This being said, the prices are a bit too high for my occasional babysitting and dog walking to be able to pay for it, and so for that reason I tend to stay away. 🌟🌟🌟/5
Lidl
You may be thinking Lidl, really? Let me remind you then, of the renowned Lidl bakery. The relatively cheap prices ,such as the 70p pretzels ( a personal favourite), make this place a great spot for buying a quick snack for break, or in my case a post - erg starvation. However, I will admit that this is not the most popular after school spot, and that the other options perhaps bring more interest to the students of Godolphin. 🌟🌟🌟/5
Pret
I’ve always felt that Pret is slightly in the shadow of other big chain cafes in the area, and yet for what reason? This place has the best chai ever, I’m not joking. If you learn something from this article, it’s to try the Pret chai. So. Good. And cheaper than Starbucks - which I’m guessing we’ll all be happy to hear…
But I’m telling you this now, it’s amazing and everything but stay away from the matcha. I know you want to look aesthetic but please just get it from somewhere else, I’m warning you. It actually tastes like grass this time. 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5

You’ve forgotten your food tech ingredients, haven’t you? It’s okay, I respect it. Not once in my lower school career did I remember to buy my ingredients.

In my head, this is like Joe and the Juice but with cheaper smoothies, but I’m going to be honest I’m not really a regular at either so who am I to say? The signs outside of this place know exactly what they’re doing, every drink that’s on them looks delicious. It’s lucky I go home the other way or my curiosity definitely would’ve gotten the better of me many times by now. Has anyone seen the honey drink they just started doing? I need to get on that right now. 🌟🌟🌟/5
Any other small cafe
I love that for you. You’re #stayingniche - something everyone seems to want to be nowadays and you’ve achieved it! Congrats! In full seriousness, I love all the small cafes in Hammersmith, the food is always great, the vibes are immaculate, and the people are so cute. Obviously telling everyone about it makes it less #niche but if you have any particularly good cafe you’d like to recommend let unpublished know and we’ll get on it…

Gone but never forgotten: Dragon cat cafe
Perhaps there's a bit of nostalgia bias here, but I truly think this was the best cafe in the entirety of Hammersmith. The drinks? Delicous. The vibes? Immaculate. The bubble tea there was like no other, and the range of drinks? Perfection. I could not rate this place any higher.
